At first, development costs drove me to online services, then, I setup a small darkroom to take care of the job myself.
Now I had to make a decision; Buy a decent film scanner to make prints, or just make the move to all-digital.
I purchased this camera, because I had a large investment in Canon EF lenses already. When I found out that my old EF lenses for my 35mm rig would work on these EOS digital cameras, I pulled the trigger on this unit.
I am very happy with the camera, and it came with most of the important accessories. (Battery, charger, etc)
The above 2 photographs were done handheld, in the poorest light I could imagine. No flash, regular LED room lighting. The picture of the camera is one I took of my latest, point and shoot camera, not the camera in this review.
I am impressed. Cannot wait to get it outside, and see what sunlight can do for the pics.

Moving on... includes a stand mount on bottom. Easy to use for anyone and will feel very familiar to Canon users. Be sure to read up on how to access and utilize more advanced features -- you paid for them and it's got the capability. For us casual "photographers" wanting something better than your common Point-and-Shoot, this is it. I.E. if you take a lot of scenic photos traveling and/or family photos, do yourself a favor and take those pictures that will last forever on a nice camera like this.
Other reviews main negative talk is about the slowness of the auto focus. However it does matter where you are shooting and the lighting that you are, but I have very few problems with it at all. The T5 is just a great overall camera, with the ability to shoot as clearly as it does while still being able so light and easy to hold. It is hard to find a camera out there that can do all this and still be at such a reasonable price. Canon EOS Rebel T5 EF-S 18-55mm IS II Digital SLR Kit (Certified Refurbished)
We upgraded from the cheaper point-and-shoot pocket cameras and I was wondering which DSLR camera to get. I mainly compared Nikon to Cannon and asked several Best Buy employees pros and cons. Basically it comes down to this:
Cannon has slightly better electronics to the camera and the interface/menus seem to be a little more intuitive.
Nikon has slightly better lenses.
So we purchased the Rebel T5 and the battery life is excellent and has been a great entry level DSLR camera. the only downside that I have ever noticed is that this has 3 pictures continuous speed. But that was only a slight disappointment coming from an iPhone 5s that has about 10 frames per second for rapid speed pictures. But I'm completely satisfied with this camera and it takes great pictures for how we use it. As always the camera doesn't just MAKE good pictures, you have to obviously use it correctly and on the proper settings (meaning you can still get some blurry pictures if you don't pay attention)... For just coming into the DSLR camera scene myself I found the Cannon Rebel T5 to be just a great product and I will be more inclined to get another Cannon next time.
ISO: The iso is from 100-6400 but it could be expanded to 12,800 iso through the menu settings; however, I wouldn't recommend unless you can work with noise in photoshop or other photo editing software.
If you asked me if its good for cloudy and sunny shots. I would say, "most definitely."
If you asked me is it good with night shots. I would say "buddy, buy a canon 6d full frame."
It's an old camera, but it does it's job really well. So buy it if you are on the market of outdoor photography, events, creating textures for 3d use, even action shots. It has the potential to give professional quality photos.

So, overall, if you are just getting introduced into the camera world a Canon EOS Rebel is the best idea. Of course, it may be a better idea to go with the T6 or T7 now, and a T6i or T7i if you are more interested in videography. I am thinking of moving on in another year or two, but this camera has been amazing!
All the photos were taken with the lense that comes in the box.
